We may receive limited billing information, such as your name, email, plan, payment status, last four digits, expiration month/year, and transaction confirmation.

Information collected automatically

When you visit the Site, we and our providers may collect:

  • IP address and general location
  • Device, browser, and operating system
  • Pages viewed, links clicked, and referring URL
  • Date, time, and approximate time on page
  • Cookie and pixel identifiers

Information from members and public sources

If you appear in the member directory, success stories, or a submitted resource, we may store the information you or your organization provided for publication.

3. How we use information

We use information to:

  • Create and manage paid membership accounts
  • Process Stripe payments and send Outseta or email purchase confirmations
  • Provide access to member-only resources, recordings, downloads, and events
  • Publish or display member profiles in the directory
  • Review and, if accepted, publish resources or stories you submit
  • Register you for workshops, webinars, and member meetings
  • Send newsletters, membership updates, and operational emails
  • Respond to contact and support requests
  • Understand how the Site is used and improve it
  • Protect the Site, prevent fraud, and enforce our Terms
  • Comply with law and keep records of donations and memberships
  • Support ALO’s educational and nonprofit mission

We do not currently run ads or remarketing campaigns. We may still use analytics and pixels listed below to understand Site performance. If that changes, we will update this Policy.

We do not sell your personal information.

4. Forms on the Site

The Site uses Webflow forms and membership checkout tools. Typical forms include:

  • Contact
  • Join / membership checkout
  • Newsletter signup
  • Submit a resource or library item
  • Event or workshop signup
  • Donation-related contact or payment flows

Please do not include patient names, medical record numbers, diagnoses, or other protected health information in these forms unless we have expressly asked for that category of data for a defined purpose.

ALO’s website is not a medical provider and is not intended as a channel for clinical records.

5. Cookies, analytics, and pixels

We use cookies and similar technologies to operate the Site, keep you logged in, remember preferences, and measure usage.

Tools that are in use or may be used include:

  • Webflow for hosting, pages, and forms
  • Outseta for accounts, membership, CRM, and email
  • Stripe for payments
  • Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager for traffic and usage analytics
  • Meta Pixel for measurement and, if later enabled, advertising
  • Make to move form or membership data between tools
  • Zoom for virtual events
  • Cookies needed for login, security, and checkout

You can control cookies through your browser. Blocking some cookies may affect login, checkout, or form submission.

Browser “Do Not Track” signals are not consistently honored across the web. We treat deletion and unsubscribe requests sent to us as the primary way to limit ongoing use.

6. How we share information

We share information with service providers who help us run the Site:

  • Webflow — website hosting and forms
  • Outseta — membership accounts, billing portal, CRM, and confirmation emails
  • Stripe — payment processing for memberships, workshops, and donations
  • Google — analytics and tag management
  • Meta — pixel / measurement
  • Make — automation and data routing between tools
  • Zoom — virtual workshop and meeting access
  • Email / CRM tools connected to Outseta — newsletters and membership messages

These providers process information on our behalf or as independent payment and event platforms. They may process data in the United States.

We may also share information:

  • With other members, when you publish a profile, resource, or story
  • With the public, when a profile, success story, or resource is published on the Site
  • If required by law, legal process, or to protect ALO, members, or the public
  • In connection with a reorganization, merger, or transfer of nonprofit operations
  • With your direction or consent

We do not share member directory data for unrelated marketing lists.

7. Member directory and user content

Paid members may have a profile. Some membership profile pages may be visible to other members or to the public.

If you submit a resource, story, or library item, ALO staff may review it and, if accepted, display it to members or on public pages.

You can ask us to update or remove profile or submitted content by emailing hello@alovingorganization.org. Public search copies or backups may persist for a time after removal.

8. Email and communications

If you join as a member, we send operational messages: purchase confirmation, account access, billing, event details, and membership updates.

If you subscribe to the newsletter, we send educational and community emails. You may unsubscribe from marketing newsletters using the link in the email.

We do not keep chat transcripts or email archives for surveillance. Emails you send us are stored as needed to respond and operate the organization.

ALO does not record live events as a standard practice and does not retain chat transcripts. Some educational or member-meeting recordings may still appear in the members library when they are offered as resources.

9. Retention

We keep personal information until:

  • You ask us to remove it, or
  • A paid membership is canceled, for information that exists only to provide that membership

We may keep limited records after that if needed for donations, accounting, legal claims, security, or law. Payment records processed by Stripe may be retained by Stripe according to its own policy.

Account passwords are not kept in readable form.

10. Security

We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards, including encrypted password storage and reputable providers for hosting, membership, and payments.

No website is completely secure. You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for the devices you use to access the Site.

11. Your choices

You may:

  • Access or update account and profile information through your membership account
  • Cancel a membership through your account or by emailing us
  • Unsubscribe from newsletters
  • Ask us to correct or delete personal information we hold
  • Ask us not to publish or to take down a profile, story, or resource you submitted

Email hello@alovingorganization.org. We may need to verify that the request comes from you.

If you are a California resident, you may request to know, delete, or correct personal information, and to opt out of “sale” or “sharing” as those terms are defined by California law. ALO does not sell personal information. Because we use analytics and may use Meta Pixel, some measurement cookies could be considered “sharing” under California law. Contact us to make a request.

12. Children

Membership, accounts, paid workshops, and member submissions are for people 18 and older.

The public Site may be viewed by a general audience. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 submitted information, email hello@alovingorganization.org and we will delete it.

13. Healthcare data

ALO writes about healthcare culture and leadership. The Site is not a covered health-care provider’s patient portal.

Do not send protected health information (PHI), employee medical files, or confidential HR records through website forms.

If a form accidentally includes sensitive data, we will handle it as confidentially as reasonably possible and may delete it.

14. International visitors

ALO is based in Rhode Island, United States. If you access the Site from another country, your information will be processed in the United States, where privacy laws may differ from those in your country.

15. Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy. The new version will be posted on this page with a revised effective date.
