Sue believes in a society where everyone belongs as equals, living and breathing the art of the possible in every way. Her daughter Jen was born with Down’s syndrome and was written off by 'professionals' at birth and many times since. Jen says, “With the right support at the right time we can go further and further”.
Out of frustration, with Jen already 28, the Blackwells created DanceSyndrome in 2009, where everyone matters and all are encouraged to lead happy, healthy and purposeful lives.
Jen, Sue and DanceSyndrome are international multi-award-winning leaders of change, disrupting the status quo and challenging perceptions and systems where necessary. They live life from the foundation of the art of the possible, whatever label or perceived ability are attached to ourselves or others, by taking one step at a time.
The Blackwells encourage everyone to follow their dreams. Jen’s mantra, ‘Dream, Believe, Achieve’ is available to everyone no matter the label, financial resources, perceived ability or cultural background.
Leading from the heart, the Blackwells are keynote speakers who inspire those who engage to think differently, creating change and transforming lives. DanceSyndrome offers training, consultancy and a replicable model of inclusion for any organisation, putting love at the heart and ensuring everyone feels that they belong and are valued.
