Hola! I am originally from Colombia and immigrated to the US in 2002. Most of my career has been dedicated to serving low-income communities in microfinance, entrepreneurship, and financial education. In 2014, I discovered Strengths-Based Development, which led me to start my own consulting firm in 2017. Since then, I’ve been helping leaders create more inclusive work environments. In the summer of 2022, after overcoming a midlife crisis induced by COVID-19 loneliness, work disengagement, and illness, I decided to leave my corporate job and pursue my business full-time. Over the past couple of years I wrote a book and did some traveled. I am currently working toward my Primordial Sound Meditation Teacher Certification with Chopra. My book, "Love Is the Path," emphasizes the need for love in the workplace, defining it as "a commitment to the flourishing of others through curiosity, empathy, and genuine concern for their well-being." I look forward to learning from all of you and redefining what it means to embody love in the workplace and beyond! :) I love hugging trees and working over Zoom with Valerie, my 25-year-old daughter, who currently resides in Colombia.

Hello everyone, such a pleasure to be included in this prestigious group of diverse individuals who are committed to bringing Love back into healthcare. My background spins 40+ years and encompasses experience as a chief nurse executive and chief operating officer in integrated healthcare systems within New England and across the country. I have been a professor at the undergraduate and graduate levels, and have a keen interest in quality as it relates to pt. experience and outcomes. I am currently leading the work on embedding Caritas Caring Science across the Trinity Health enterprise. As a nurse executive change coach, I am committed to ensuring that love, empathy, and compassion remain at the forefront of our practice. I understand the importance of a contemporary practice model that continuously evaluates innovations that influence professional practice. We must never forget a patient centric approach while always remaining sensitive to cultural influences within our practice.

Healthcare has been my passion for 25+ years, starting as a Clinical Dietitian and evolving into a focus on Patient Experience. I've worked with organizations across the U.S., learning from inspiring individuals and seeing the shared challenges in delivering exceptional care. Now, I’m channeling this experience into founding the Healthcare Reinvention Collaborative (HRC), a community and social purpose company uniting changemakers to reimagine healthcare and drive meaningful, lasting transformation. Together, we can disrupt the status quo.

My journey in athletics began as a three-year starter and team captain for the University of Toledo football team, where I had the privilege of leading my teammates as a defensive player. I received accolades such as Team’s Defensive Player of the Year and First Team All-Conference honors.

Dr. Valecia A. Baldwin advances healthcare leadership worldwide through behavioral intelligence strategies that align patient care, performance, and profit to restructure emotionally intelligent, resilient teams.

After college, I pursued my dream as a free-agent defensive back in the NFL, which allowed me to work alongside some of the best talents in the sport. I’m particularly passionate about youth athletics and have had the honor of developing and coaching the Tower Titans football team. Over the years, we’ve built a strong program that empowers young athletes, helping them thrive in a supportive environment. Watching these young players grow and succeed together is one of the most rewarding experiences of my life.
